Having an October Freakout? Of Course You Are!

October 22, 2013 By Lee Burgess Leave a Comment

evil pumpkinHere we are in mid-October. The leaves are turning, the days are getting shorter, and law students everywhere are freaking out. Yup, it is the time of year for the October Freakout. Does this sound familiar? Have you had a rough week or two? Are you starting to feel panicked or full of anxiety? It is completely normal, and we are here to help.

October is the time when reality starts to set in. You may have gotten not-so-great feedback on your midterm exams. You may have started to outline and realized you have no clue what you are doing. You may have taken a practice exam and, yet again, felt like you didn’t know what you are doing. Or you may have just completed your first research and writing assignment. No matter what has triggered the freakout, the reality is that final exams are less than two month away and your stress level is skyrocketing.

If you are freaking out, have no fear. We have a bunch of resources to help you out. Check out these helpful posts:

  • Surviving the 1L October Freakout (via The Girl’s Guide to Law School)
  • It’s Time for a Mid-Semester Reality Check
