Keep Your Spirits Up! Don’t Let Negativity Get You Down

April 22, 2014 By Lee Burgess Leave a Comment

sunflowerAs final exams approach (as they are for most of you in the next few weeks), a number of law students are starting to get a little depressed. Students are spending time thinking what a bad idea going to law school was in the first place or they are reading blogs on this topic. Does this sound like you? [Read more…] about Keep Your Spirits Up! Don’t Let Negativity Get You Down

“ I don’t have time to do practice exams because I have a moot court argument/paper/legal writing assignment coming up.”

These are just some of the common excuses I hear from law students around this time in the semester about starting practice exams. Everyone knows they need to do it, but no one wants to. [Read more…] about What’s Your Excuse? Start Taking Practice Exams

Dealing with Law School “Time Regret”

March 31, 2014 By Alison Monahan Leave a Comment

Plant a TreeMaybe it’s the change of seasons, or the rapidly approaching law school exam period, but I’ve found myself having some variant of this conversation over and over again in the last few weeks:

“Wow, I can’t believe how much time I’ve wasted so far in law school. I really wish I’d met you months ago, before I screwed all this stuff up.”

While this is flattering, and I totally get it, I’m not sure it’s all that helpful in the end.

Mistake, or Learning Opportunity?
